NATIONAL UNDERWEAR DAY
Underwear is one of the greatest unmet needs we encounter every day at Hilda's Place Drop-In Center. Our donation programs that support showers, laundry, and access to clothing are well established, but we have yet to secure a steady supply of new, in-package underwear. Imagine relying on Connections for so many basic needs while navigating homelessness, and still never knowing when you will have reliable access to this foundational human need.
This summer we are trying something new: celebrate National Underwear Day with Connections by helping us collect 1,000 pairs of underwear! There are a number of ways to get involved throughout the summer, culminating in a National Underwear Day Drive-Through Party on Saturday, August 9th at 9am-11am.
We welcome the community's enthusiasm for meeting this serious need in a silly way.
Please note: boxers are preferred over briefs for men’s sizes.

Five ways to celebrate National Underwear Day with Connections:
Host a collection box to get us to 1,000 pairs of underwear.
Collection sites will go live on Saturday, July 12 and remain active until August 9th. Register your small business, workplace, or community space, to receive support from Connections, including posters, graphics to text/post/email, sample language explaining the donation drive, and a donation collection box.
2.
Throw your own mini–National Underwear Day party.
Having friends over for a summer gathering? Make it a National Underwear Day party! Ask attendees to bring donations to your event. You can host your gathering any time between now and August 9th. Once you sign up, we’ll provide posters, graphics to share via text/socials/email, sample language explaining the donation drive, and a donation collection box. Send in pictures of your mini-National Underwear Day party so we can keep the celebration going on social media.

Party with us on Saturday, August 9th!
Bring your donation of new, adult-sized underwear to our National Underwear Day Drive-Through Party on Saturday, August 9th. Can’t make it that day? Shop and share our Amazon underwear registry.

Volunteer at the National Underwear Day Drive-Through Party on Saturday, August 9th.
Ferry donations inside, organize storage at Hilda’s Place, direct traffic, and contribute to the celebratory energy!

Spend your summer as an Underwear Ambassador.
Do you know small businesses, community partners, and neighbors who may be excited about getting involved with our National Underwear Day efforts?
