Yes, in God’s Backyard is a movement to allow and encourage faith-based organizations to develop affordable housing on underutilized land. In Cook County alone, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese owns 5,500 acres, with every acre having the potential to host anywhere from 5-50 housing units (source).
