Donate Items

Donations of clothing, shelf-stable food, household items, and toiletries help us meet essential needs in the immediate term, and keep in touch with participants as they move along the path toward stable housing.

Donation Drop-off Sites

Contact our Volunteer & Community Partnerships Manager, if you will need assistance with unloading donations, or if your donation exceeds a carload.

Donations may be delivered to:​

  • Main Office (2121 Dewey Avenue, Evanston): Monday - Friday between 9:00 a.m. - 3:45p.m.

  • Hilda's Place (1458 Chicago Avenue, Evanston):

    Large donations or toiletry donations can be accepted from Monday - Friday between 9:00 a.m. - 3:45p.m.

    Clothing or shoe donations can be placed in bin. Please follow instructions on the outside of the bin.

The Hilda’s Place donation bin pictured above accepts in-season, new or gently used casual clothing or shoes. Please ensure all donations are in a tied bag and not left outside the bin.

  • Individually packaged snacks

  • Individual cartons of milk

Adult Clothing

  • Seasonally appropriate* clothing

  • Underwear/

    undergarments (new only)

  • Pants

  • T-shirts

  • Sneakers/gym shoes

Other Items

  • Rolling suitcases

  • Backpacks

  • Can openers

  • Sleeping bags

*Warm Weather: May 1 – September 30
