During the past year, this has meant that we have been able to serve a couple living in their car, a senior that has lived on the streets for many years, a young woman that has spent the past few months sleeping on the train or couch surfing with friends, and many, many other people with nowhere to sleep each night. We were able to serve them with your support.
Sallamah Aliah, Director of Community Programs, commented, "With the expansion of our drop-in services, we are now are able to give people who are homeless daily access to the basic necessities and case management services they need to rebuild their lives." This includes robust physical and mental health services, housing location support for people looking for affordable homes in our community, expanded case management services, showers, laundry, food, clothing, and storage. We provide each of these services so that the people we serve can move beyond meeting just their day-to-day needs and start to develop a plan for the future.
And we are just getting started. Connections is committed to even more growth to better serve our community and extend our impact. As we plan ahead for our future, we have ambitious goals and are preparing a plan to ensure everyone in our community has access to a safe, stable place to sleep each night. Working together, we can end homelessness, one person at a time.
