Winter Warmth 2024
On Saturday, November 9th, we hosted another successful Winter Warmth event! This year we distributed free cold weather gear to 538 individuals, including 209 households. Winter Warmth is always a huge undertaking, and we deeply appreciate our wonderful volunteers, staff, and community partners who all pitch in to help collect clothing, set up, and keep the event running smoothly day of. We couldn't do it without you!
WINTER WARMTH 2023
This past weekend, our Winter Warmth event took place at Lake Street Church, bringing together nearly 100 volunteers in a collective effort to extend warmth and care to those in need within our community.
In the course of a few hours, we distributed hundreds of winter coats and snow boots to nearly 600 people. Thanks to the Reva and David Logan Foundation, we were able to assemble an extensive collection of coats and boots of various sizes and colors to suit everyone's needs.
As Connections CEO Betty Bogg put it, “There’s really nothing that can compare to the satisfaction that comes from providing someone with something they urgently need. Today, we gave out warm clothes and good feelings.”
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to every volunteer, donor, and supporter who contributed to making Winter Warmth a success, including Black Women of Evanston, Lighthouse Rotary, Rotary Club of Wilmette, Focus, Junior League of Evanston-North Shore, and Aetna.
