ABOUT THRIVE
THRIVE, Connections’ annual gala, is the organization’s oldest and largest event. In 2019, THRIVE raised a record-shattering $500,000 in support of helping individuals and families move into housing and toward self-sufficiency. The event, held at Architectural Artifacts in Chicago, broke the traditional “gala mold” when it unveiled a new format in 2017. Instead of a sit-down dinner, 11 Evanston and Chicago-area restaurants set up tasting stations featuring one of their signature dishes. Past restaurants have included Found, La Principal, Libertad, Peckish Pig, Ten Mile House, and Torino Ramen. For dessert, guests participate in a competitive “Sugar Rush,” where guests bid collectively with their tablemates for the right to choose their desserts first from selections donated by local bakeries. Guests will be entertained by the Lakeside Pride Strayhorns during the Cocktail Hour and again after dessert. ATTENDEE DEMOGRAPHICS
