Connections served more than 1,500 neighbors through our Eviction Prevention, Housing, and Shelter programs in the last year. This is groundbreaking impact, but there is still much more work to be done.
Since opening our doors 35 years ago, we have continued to lead the fight to end homelessness and address its root causes. In early 2020, we are taking the lead once again by opening our region's only shelter for homeless women, outside of domestic violence services. We are simultaneously increasing our capacity to offer more wrap-around services for all our program participants. Now is an exciting time to invest in our bold efforts to serve more of our neighbors and end homelessness in our community, one person at a time. Will you join us as a leader in the fight to end homelessness today? |
"In 2018, I was really sick and it kept me out of work. My savings ran out and I couldn't pay my rent. I became homeless for the first time in my life. I was hopping from couch to couch, staying with anyone would let me for as long as they would let me.
That's when my church encouraged me to reach out to Connections. I started going every day and the Housing Coordinator stuck with me. We filled out so many forms, so many applications - there was so much paperwork. I never could have managed on my own. With their support, I moved into my own place. My health started to improve and I was ready to work again. I am so thankful that Connections was there." |
