Ending homelessness is our mission.
We operate a range of housing programs to help people more from homelessness to housing as quickly as possible. Supportive Housing Being homeless is a traumatic life event and the trauma doesn’t disappear once people are housed. With ongoing targeted services and support and long-term rental assistance, we help individuals and families move forward with dignity and confidence and maintain housing, for good. Transitional Housing We help build the economic and housing security of families and transitional aged youth (18 to 24 years of age) that are unstably housed. Our short-term housing programs, coupled with robust case management, help our participants develop the skills and confidence they need to live and thrive in our community. |
Stories of Success: CarlosWhen Carlos’ mother passed away, he also lost his family home and he became homeless. Carlos visited our drop-in center to access the food pantry and clothing room before going to his job as a crossing guard. When COVID-19 hit, he lost his job and moved into Connections’ emergency shelter at the Margarita Inn. Connections partnered with Carlos to secure a permanent home in downtown Evanston through our Rapid Rehousing program. Carlos is happy to have restarted his job as a crossing guard and continues to stay involved with the Connections community.
