On April 2, we restored our drop-in program to 5 days a week. In the first two weeks of our expanded operation, we have provided more than 500 additional essential services like showers, laundry facilities, access to our clothing closet, and connection to our case managers. Each day, new people are coming to us asking for and receiving our help.
Our Nurse Practitioner is now full-time, and we just added a Mental Health Specialist to our team. As a result, we’ve more than doubled the number of health services we are providing.
We’ve also added $25,000 in privately-funded homelessness prevention assistance. We know that for about $2,000 we can prevent a household from ever becoming homeless, and our new private fund will keep more families from experiencing the trauma of eviction.
