Connections has a variety of programs to help people who are homeless or in danger of losing their housing. Some of our programs are government-funded and have complicated eligibility requirements. When you call, you may be asked to talk to an intake specialist to help determine which programs fit your needs best.
For a Place to Sleep Tonight:
EntryPoint Drop-In provides access to showers, laundry, a clothing room, sack lunches, and a food pantry, as well as access to case managers.
We do intakes Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 1458 Chicago Ave. (entrance at the north end of the Lake Street Church off the alley). At intake, you can find out if you are eligible and if there are any openings for the night.
For Entrance into Housing Programs:
Call Connections at 847-475-7070 for an appointment for eligibility screening for our supportive housing programs for individuals and for families and for our tenant-based rental assistance program for families. You can review eligibility requirements for our programs below.
For Financial Assistance if You Are Homeless:
Call the Suburban Cook Call Line at (877) 426-6515 to find out if you are eligible to receive ESG (Emergency Solutions Grant) rapid re-housing assistance. Note: The applicant must call directly, not a social worker.
For Financial Assistance if You Are in Danger of Being Evicted:
Call Connections at 847-475-7070 to find out if you are eligible to receive Homelessness Prevention assistance through ESG (the Emergency Solutions Grant) or the State of Illinois.
